Australian Basketball Development (AUBD) operates on a service-based model offering basketball training, development programs, holiday camps, Talent ID events, and international tours.
As our programs reserve places, employ coaches, secure venues, and allocate resources in advance, we maintain the following refund and return conditions.
This policy complies with the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) and Fair Trading Victoria guidelines.
Refunds may be provided only when the member has not attended any sessions within the billing cycle
AND
has notified AUBD of cancellation prior to or shortly after the billing date.
Refunds are not provided if the athlete has attended one or more sessions during that billing period.
Memberships are not paused or refunded for injuries or absences under 4 weeks.
Instead, all Squad athletes are entitled to attend the AUBD School Holiday Training Camp at no cost, providing:
Approximately 3 hours per day
Across 6–8 days each school holiday period
A full make-up opportunity for missed weekly hours
This exceeds the usual 2–4 hours of weekly training that most athletes attend.
If an athlete is injured or unable to train for 4 weeks or longer, the family may request:
A membership pause, or
A pro-rated refund for the period missed
Evidence (e.g., medical certificate, injury report) may be required.
Because Squad membership includes:
Unlimited access to MSAC and Waverley, and
Unlimited access to AUBD Holiday Camps,
missed sessions at one venue can be made up at the other or during holidays.
For this reason, refunds are generally not issued for short-term disruptions.
Refunds may be granted only when:
The participant has not attended,
AUBD has been notified of withdrawal in advance, and
The withdrawal does not reduce minimum numbers needed for the program to run.
Once the participant has attended any part of a camp, clinic, or ID event, fees are non-refundable.
If AUBD cancels an event (e.g., venue issue, staffing emergency), families will receive either:
A full refund, or
A credit towards another AUBD event.
Tour deposits are non-refundable, as they secure:
Flights,
Hotels,
Ground transport,
Tournament entry,
Uniform package,
Administrative costs.
Payment plans are permitted; however:
Missed payments may result in removal from the tour list,
Positions are not guaranteed until payments are up to date.
Refund eligibility depends on:
The specific tour contract,
What AUBD can recover from airlines, hotels, and partners.
Each tour has its own agreement, which governs refunds above this general policy.
Squad uniforms and tour uniforms are included as part of program or tour fees.
Because these are:
Custom-printed,
Made to order,
Provided as part of your membership or tour package,
Uniforms are non-returnable and non-refundable unless defective.
In accordance with the Australian Consumer Law:
Faulty, damaged, or incorrect items will be replaced at no cost.
Proof (photo or return of the item) may be required.
Nothing in this policy limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
AUBD will meet all obligations related to:
defective goods,
major service failures, and
guarantees that cannot be excluded.
All requests must be submitted via email to AUBD.
Please include:
Athlete name
Program or membership type
Reason for the request
Dates affected
Evidence if the request relates to injury or medical absence
AUBD will review all requests and respond within 5–7 business days.
