AUBD – General Terms & Conditions

1. Assumption of Risk & Liability Waiver

I acknowledge that participation in AUBD programs, including Squad training, camps, Talent ID events, tours and competitions, involves inherent physical risks. I understand and voluntarily accept these risks on behalf of my child.

I agree that Australian Basketball Development (AUBD), its directors, staff and coaches are not liable for any injury, loss or damage arising from participation, including (but not limited to) bodily injury, mental injury, or economic loss, except where required by Australian consumer law.

2. Coaching, Training & Physical Contact

I acknowledge that basketball is a physical sport and that AUBD coaches may make reasonable and professional physical contact with my child when:

• Correcting technique

• Guiding movement

• Simulating controlled game contact

• Assisting in drills and safety positioning

This contact will always be appropriate and necessary for skill development and safety.

3. Media & Photography Consent

I acknowledge that all photos and videos taken during AUBD programs, sessions, camps, tours or events may be used by AUBD for promotional, digital, social media or educational purposes.

All media captured is owned by AUBD and may be used at AUBD’s discretion.

AUBD Squad Membership Terms

4. Membership Billing

By joining the AUBD Squad, I agree that:

• My membership is billed monthly on a recurring basis,

• Billing may occur on different dates depending on the date I joined or AUBD’s billing cycle,

• Fees are charged automatically unless I cancel in writing.

(This removes the locked “16th” rule and allows flexibility.)

5. Session Access

AUBD Squad members may access:

• Unlimited weekly Squad sessions at all AUBD venues during school terms, and

• Unlimited AUBD School Holiday Training Camp sessions.

6. Membership Cancellations & Pauses

• Cancellations must be submitted via email to AUBD.

• Memberships may only be paused if 4 or more consecutive weeks of training will be missed.

• Pauses must be requested before the upcoming billing date.

Camps, Talent ID Events & Holiday Programs

7. Program Payments

All camps, Talent ID events, clinics and non-Squad programs require full payment upon registration and are non-refundable unless required by Australian consumer law.

8. Behaviour & Participation

AUBD reserves the right to remove any child whose behaviour presents a safety risk, is disruptive, or breaches program expectations.

No refunds apply if removal is due to behaviour.

Tours & International Travel

9. Tour Deposits & Payments

Tour deposits secure a position and are non-refundable unless otherwise stated in the specific tour agreement.
Payment plans may be offered. All tour fees must be paid by the agreed deadlines.

10. Travel Requirements

Parents/guardians are responsible for:

• Valid passports

• Visa requirements

• Travel insurance

• Ensuring all forms and documents are submitted by AUBD deadlines.

11. Tour Conduct

Athletes and families must follow all instructions from AUBD staff, host clubs, hotels and partner organisations.
AUBD may remove an athlete from tour activities for serious behaviour, safety breaches or misconduct.

12. Medical Treatment

In the event of injury or medical emergency, I authorize AUBD staff to obtain medical treatment for my child.
I accept responsibility for any associated medical costs.

13. Indemnity

To the maximum extent permitted by law, I indemnify AUBD, its directors, staff and representatives against all claims, damages, liabilities and expenses arising from:

• My child’s participation,

• Breaches of these terms,

• Failure to follow staff instructions.

14. Amendments

AUBD may update these Terms & Conditions at any time. Continued participation constitutes acceptance of updated terms.
